Tulane University Policy Department (TUPD)

The Tulane University Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that provides police services to the Uptown Campus, the Downtown Medical Center Campus, and the National Primate Research Center located in Covington.

The Line

When students want to talk to someone right away, they can call or text Tulane's crisis line, any time, day or night, for confidential support. Call The Line, 24/7, at 504-264-6074.

Student Affairs Professional On Call (SAPOC)

The Division of Student Affairs provides a 24/7 professional staff on call for urgent situations and can be reached by calling (504) 920-9900 or by filing a report online here.

Sexual Aggression Peer Hotline and Education (SAPHE)

SAPHE is a student organization that operates a 24/7 confidential hotline. The hotline is operated during the fall and spring semesters when classes are in session. The purpose of the hotline is to provide support and information to members of the Tulane community regarding all issues that surround sexual aggression. Sexual aggression occurs in many forms including rape, sexual assault, stalking, dating / intimate partner violence, and sexual harassment. Call SAPHE at (504) 654-9543.

The Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and affirming community of care for all students. Their interdisciplinary team fosters personal, emotional and academic well-being by offering comprehensive therapeutic services, outreach and prevention programs, and consultative relationships throughout Tulane.

Visits to The Counseling Center are scheduled by appointment at either the Uptown and Downtown location. Review the Getting Started process or call to make an appointment.

Case Management and Victim Support Services (CMVSS)

Case Management and Victim Support Services (CMVSS) is a single resource for any Tulane students in need of support. CMVSS is a great resource to turn to if you have no idea where else to go. No matter how difficult or unique your situation and no matter where you are – They are here to help! 

CMVSS offers problem resolution services, case management services, victim support services, referral services, coordination and follow-up during and after hospitalization and/or medical leave of absence, and crisis management and resolution.

Emergency Preparedness and Response

The Office of Emergency Preparedness & Response brings together information and alert systems, so the entire Tulane community is safe, happy and healthy. Their primary focus is to inform students of the proper emergency procedures as they apply to four key areas: Severe Weather, Buildings & Grounds, Violence, and Health Hazards.

Goldman Center for Student Accessibility

The Goldman Center for Student Accessibility, seeks to eliminate barriers, advocate for inclusion, and ensure access for every member of our community. Their mission is to recognize that a community rich in diversity acknowledges that great minds think differently.

Health Center for Student Care (Uptown and Downtown)

The Health Center is staffed by licensed and board-certified providers to provide accessible, high-quality medical care for students during their time at Tulane University. 

They provide comprehensive medical care, including both primary care and preventive health care services. They also offer referrals for specialized care in the community.

Telehealth Appointments

If you are currently located in Louisiana and need medical or mental health care, schedule a virtual visit with one of our providers. The majority of appointments can initially be seen via telehealth, and then a provider will direct you to schedule an in-person visit if necessary.

Office for Gender and Sexual Diversity (OGSD)

The Office of Gender & Sexual Diversity creates a welcoming environment for all individuals who are interested in developing their understanding of gender and sexuality. They serve as a hub for social, cultural, academic, and intellectual resources. They provide mentorship, academic and career development, leadership opportunities, advising, advocacy and social justice trainings, a designated lounge and meeting space, social and cultural programming, critical dialogue and engagement, and internship opportunities.

Office of Institutional Equity (OIE)

Diversity and Inclusive Excellence focuses specifically on fostering greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and accountability at every level of university life. The central premise at Tulane is to intentionally integrate diversity efforts into the core aspects of the institution to maximize success as a Carnegie-designated Research University (very high research activity).

OIE collaborates with its campus partners on issues pertaining to: Affirmative Action Plan, Americans with Disabilities Act, Community Outreach, Complaints and Grievances, Diversity and Inlusive Excellence, Education Opportunities, Building Conversations, Skills Building, and Title IX.

Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS)

Tulane’s OISS is the designated office on campus to provide immigration advising and support services to Tulane's international community, specifically individuals in F, J, and H status.  Their website provides comprehensive information on government regulations and other important campus and community resources.

Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA)

The Office of Multicultural Affairs works to foster an open and vibrant learning environment that welcomes, respects, and appreciates the histories, traditions, and cultures of historically and currently underrepresented student populations. They also address issues of bias, discrimination, and harassment—all of which negatively affect the health and well being of students and learning communities. Through leadership, opportunities, programs, services, and providing affirming and welcoming spaces, OMA strives to help all students thrive at Tulane.

Office of Student Conduct (OSC)

The Office of Student Conduct manages all non-academic misconduct allegations that involve Tulane students. 

The goal of the Student Conduct system is to educate students about appropriate behavior and decision-making, and to foster a safe and healthy community in which academic success can occur.

The Well for Health Promotion

The Well for Health Promotion (The Well) provides resources, programs, and services that help Tulane students make healthy choices in support of their academic, personal and professional goals.

Title IX

Tulane University affirms the right of all students to access an education free of sexual violence. The All In website brings together information, resources, and opportunities to empower our campus community in our efforts to prevent, intervene in, and respond to acts of sexual violence.

Tulane Legal Assistance Program (TULAP)

TULAP is a legal services program funded by the Tulane University Associated Student Body. They provide free legal advice and low-cost representation to current Tulane University students, staff, and faculty. TULAP also provides free notarial services and information regarding legal rights. Because they are funded by the University, they may only provide representation to current students, staff, and faculty, and cannot represent one member of the Tulane community against another, as that would present a conflict of interest.
